Join Rinnai, a market leader in heating & cooling, hot water and lifestyle products across Australia. Our rapidly growing Braeside manufacturing site is investing in capability, process improvement and automation, and we're looking for an experienced Team Leader with an engineering degree to take ownership of our welding production area in a high-volume hot water tank environment.

This is the kind of role where you'll be hands-on on the floor, but also driving the bigger picture: safety, quality, flow, and continuous improvement.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll lead a small team of senior and production operators while keeping production moving and improving how we work.

  • Lead, coach and develop your team to deliver safe, efficient, high-quality output
  • Plan daily production and allocate labour/resources effectively
  • Ensure in-line quality checks are completed and escalate deviations quickly
  • Drive improvement across safety, quality, productivity, and waste reduction
  • Maintain strong process discipline: SOPs, standard work, audits
  • Lead CI activities to improve stability, throughput and product consistency
  • Maintain 6S standards for a clean, safe and organised work area
  • Operate and set up Digital HMI-enabled manufacturing equipment
  • Support robotics and automated welding systems (troubleshooting + optimisation)

What you'll bring

  • A degree in Production / Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
  • Manufacturing production line experience (machinery/equipment preferred)
  • Strong communication skills and confident problem-solving
  • Experience with process engineering (process audits, SOPs, robotics/automation)
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate production teams
  • Certificate III in Manufacturing (preferred)
  • Experience with robotics/automation (ABB robots highly regarded)
  • Welding/fabrication environment experience (preferred)

Why Rinnai

  • Above-award hourly rates
  • Off-street parking
  • On-site gym
  • Generous staff discounts across the group
  • A stable, respected brand with a site that's growing fast and investing in improvement

If you're ready to step into a role where you can lead people and lift performance through engineering and process discipline apply now and be part of what we're building at Braeside.
